Best Halloween Events for Adults + Kids in OC

It’s that time of the year again. The air feels crisper, the nights seem longer, and scary sights are everywhere (especially with so many Trump costumes walking around!)

Political jokes aside, I’ve picked out some fun, kid-friendly and adult-only Halloween events in Orange County in hopes to make your Halloween one to remember.

October 29: Day of the Dead Celebration & Workshop

This family-friendly event is located at the Huntington Beach Art Center and open to anyone who would like to attend.

There will be art workshop activities, music, food and a screening of the film “The Book of Life,” along with the presence of the film’s director Jorge R Gutierrez.

Time: 12:00 - 4:00 PM

Cost: Free

Are you interested in attending? RSVP HERE

October 31: Trick or Treat, Main Street in Huntington Beach

Get dressed up and head out to Huntington Beach Main Street for some good, clean fun! There will be a free petting zoo for kids {and adults!} and bounce house, kid booths, pony rides a ferris wheel, and more.

Free Halloween Costume Contest:  6:30 - 7:00 p.m.

Pumpkin Carving: 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Fire Department, City of Huntington Beach displays

Cost: Free

Time: 5:00 - 8:30 p.m.

Location: Main Street Huntington Beach

October 22: Costa Mesa Bark Park K9 Costume Contest

Are you a dog lover like me? Then this is the perfect Halloween event for you and your pup!

The Costa Mesa Bark Park is hosting its first annual Howl’oween K9 Costume Contest and Pet Adoption Event.

Some of the costume categories include:

  • cutest
  • scariest
  • best in show
  • most original
  • funniest

Get your thinking cap on and dress your dog in something unique and creative because there will be some great prizes up for grabs!

Time: 11:00-3:00pm

Cost: Free

October 31: Halloween Tour in Fullerton

On October 31st, the North Orange Paranormal Society is hosting a special Haunted House tour at the Fullerton Museum, not recommended for children under 13.

While most people enjoy a good ghostly scare, the real draw of the tour is that participants will learn about Fullerton's colorful history, says Aimee Aul, Fullerton Museum Center educator and tour coordinator.

Cost: $20 for museum members and $25 for the general public

Where: The Fullerton Museum Center, 301 N. Pomona Ave.

Space is limited, so reserving a spot is highly recommended!

Call the Fullerton Museum Center at (714) 738-6545.

I hope you have tons of fun and stay safe this Halloween!
