11 Reasons To List A Home During The Holidays

With all the hustle and bustle of the holidays, busyness becomes an epidemic. You've got presents that haven't been wrapped, pumpkin spice lattes to be had, fun holiday parties to attend (and throw) and the list goes on. But we've got 11 reasons why it might actually be the most brilliant thing you could do to list your home during the holidays. If you're in the market to sell, you'll definitely want to read on.

Top 11 Reasons to List During the Holidays

1. People who look for a home during the Holidays are more serious buyers!

2. Serious buyers have fewer houses to choose from during the Holidays and less competition means more money for you.

3. Since the supply of listings will dramatically increase in January, there will be less demand for your particular home. So, listing your home before the new year is key.

4. Houses show better when decorated for the Holidays. Who can resist apple-spice-scented candles, baby pumpkins, and fresh garland? Sold! ;)

5. Holidays can be stressful, but it's also a time full of rest, relaxation and heartwarming moments. As a result of uplifted spirits (or maybe it's the spiked apple cider) people are more likely to pay the full price of a listing during the holidays.

6. Buyers have more time to look for a home during the Holidays, especially during the weekday. The more traffic, the more likely you are to get an offer.

7. Some people in certain tax brackets are required to buy before the end of the year.

8. January is traditionally the month for employees to begin new jobs. Since transferees cannot wait until Spring to buy, it's important to be on market during November and December to capture that particular market.

9. There's some flexibility that the holidays offer. For example, you can still be on the market, but you have the option to pause showings during the six or seven days during the Holidays. We all need a break sometimes!

10. You can sell now for more money and we will provide for a delayed closing or extended occupancy until early next year.

11. By selling now, you may have an opportunity to be a non-contingent buyer during the Spring, when many more houses are on the market for less money! This will allow you to sell high and buy low.

Wishing you the very best at the holidays, please give me a call if you are thinking of making a move in the New Year!
